This Season

So I have really got to crack down! I need to
exercise myself more and Gent more. I was really
doing well with both for a while but I had a bit
of a set back. But I am motivated again. I am
really going to do my best to get Gent to Training
level this year. the only real problem is lack of
money. I want to get out to a lot but I can't
afford as much as I want. I will just have to use
my time and money as effectively as possible. Plus
school, train, and exercise to our full potential.
We'll get there!

So I had a problem with the ditch a while back
not really an issue any more he has been doing
them without an issue at all. Now the last two
shows I went to I got eliminated at the bank down
it's a similar problem plus I should have
schooled between but just couldn't oh well. But
the good news is I schooled at Ledyard a week ago
and he was excellent. He did the banks, steps,
ditch, everything he was great. He looked the
first time at the bank down but was not the fight
I had at the show. So I am going to try and go
schooling again this Saturday (if I can get my
flat tire fixed). Then I am doing Apple Knoll the
26th (just a schooling) and hopefully I'll have
success. There BN schooling in the spring was
easy so hopefully the Novice will be more
challenging. :) hopefully I will be doing the
Training level next fall! :)

*UPDATE*

So Gent and I have been doing so well. Our goal
is to try and compete at AEC next year at the
Novice level. It seems like a reachable goal. I
almost qualified at my last show and was hoping
to qualify at Snowfields and/or UNH. But
Snowfields was cancelled (uggh) so now I only
have UNH this year. So I'm trying not to stress
myself because I can always qualify the beginning
of next year for '09 AECs. I just would rather
know before the winter if we were going.

Well hope all goes well. I feel like my show
season which was going full steam is kind of
stalled but I'm staying positive. Trying to
squeeze everything I can in so I can do some
Training levels next year. I want to have enough
Novices under our belts first though. But I was
surprised how easy Novice felt at the last show.
Of course I was nervous but it really went super
smooth and was a blast! So I know we can do it.
Maybe Prelim sooner rather than later...lets not
get ahead of ourselves! RSS

DITCHES!!!

So Gent has been great! Couldn't ask for more. I
totally have my confidence back. Still get
nervous at shows but I'm much better. EXCEPT for
the ditch. We seriously have been placing top two
at every event that doesn't have a ditch! We got
eliminated at our last show after being in
second, very disappointing you know. But I'm
staying positive and we'll get over it. I know we
will!

Lost parrot tells veterinarian his address

TOKYO - When Yosuke the parrot flew out of his
cage and got lost, he did exactly what he had
been taught - recite his name and address to a
stranger willing to help.

Police rescued the African grey parrot two weeks
ago from a neighbor's roof in the city of
Nagareyama, near Tokyo. After spending a night at
the station, he was transferred to a nearby
veterinary hospital while police searched for
clues, local policeman Shinjiro Uemura said.

He kept mum with the cops, but began chatting
after a few days with the vet.

"I'm Mr. Yosuke Nakamura," the bird told the
veterinarian, according to Uemura. The parrot
also provided his full home address, down to the
street number, and even entertained the hospital
staff by singing songs.

"We checked the address, and what do you know, a
Nakamura family really lived there. So we told
them we've found Yosuke," Uemura said.

The Nakamura family told police they had been
teaching the bird its name and address for about
two years.

But Yosuke apparently wasn't keen on opening up
to police officials.

"I tried to be friendly and talked to him, but he
completely ignored me," Uemura said.
